The Mission-

(and we're REALLY hoping you'll choose to accept it) - is to help the Rainbow Alley Theater Program raise enough money to make the production of our dreams come true!
How, you ask, can I help?

Its pretty simple, actually, just click on that little PayPal widget down below and donate some cash!

Ah, but now you ask, WHY?

Because you care about LGBTQIA youth in Denver . . .because you want LGBTQIA youth to see themselves represented in theater and other art . . .because the Rainbow Alley youth are hilarious . . .because you know that the LGBTQIA movement for equality involves supporting the creative leadership of passionate young people . . .because you don't have time, but you do have money . . .because you remember that one thing when you were a young person that kept you going each day, each week, each year . . .

Or for a thousand other reasons we haven't even thought of - but mostly, because we need your help to ensure that the young people who show up week after week to be a part of the Out of the Closet and Into the Alley Theater Company have a script to perform in the spring.

We have chosen a fabulous script - "Queertopia: The Anti-Violence Project" - written by and for LGBTQ youth in conjunction with a nationally renowned theater company based in Chicago - and we need to pay this other fabulous non-profit organization for the rights to perform this script. This play is one of the only scripts available that speaks to the concerns of LGBTQIA youth and presents an accurate and beautiful portrayal of the lived experiences of these youth. And while we have had tremendous fun creating original work based in our own stories, the company wants to branch out and face the unique challenges of working with a published script.

Our goal is to raise $700 between today and next Thursday - February 24, 2011. And if that sounds like a crazy task, think of this - just 70 people (you all have quadruple that number on your Facebook friends list) donating $10 (which is what you spend on lunch - maybe less) will help us reach our goal.

And, in case you need some incentive beyond that warm squishy feeling of knowing you've done something incredible - we'll even put your name in the program.
